COACHES’ COMMENT: Not much depth with only 18 wrestlers on the roster, so staying/getting healthy is the key. We already have a number of wrestlers with nagging injuries. Hopefully they will be ready to go by our first match. After finishing last in 2012, there is only one way to go.

OUTLOOK FOR THE SEASON:  We will have 6 or 7 freshman in the lineup most nights and that kind of youth usually doesn’t sit well in the sport of wrestling.  But, these freshmen have been wrestling for most of their school life so they are no stranger to the sport.  With the help of good senior leadership, we should be able to hold our own against most of the teams we will encounter this year.
The NWOAL will be particularly strong again this season with Archbold, Delta and Wauseon at the top. Throw in Liberty Center and Bryan into the mix and it will make for an exciting year in wrestling.

COACHES OUTLOOK: We fell we have a very competitive regular season schedule to help prepare our kids for a chance to compete at the district and state level. We will be taking several wrestlers to the prestiguous Ironman Tournament in December for the first time, and we’re making our third trip to the always strong Brecksville Holiday Tournamernt. In addition, we’ll have our hands full with our league dual meet schedule. As three-time defending league champions, we’ll have to continue to perform at a high level to achieve our goal of four straight league titles. We’re also very excited about competing in the new state dual meet tournament in late January.

COACHES COMMENTS: We will continue to have some depth this year with the same amount of kids as we had last year with 21.  It looks like I will have 13-14 weight classes filled and we will have 7 seniors on the team, and 13 returnind letterman.  This is also the first time I will have a returning state qualifier with Logan entering his senior year.  Last year Logan was under the radar and upset some seniors at the District Tournament to reach the state meet where he went 1-2 and lost his match to place.

COACHES OUTLOOK: On paper, we have a nice returning lineup, the question remains will the seniors accept the leadership role. The GMC has several returning state-caliber quality wrestlers. Barring injuries and other mishaps, we should compete with Edgerton and Wayne Trace in the GMC.
